Regional Tex-Mex Chain Bests National Competitors

Farmers Branch, TX (March 24, 2016) – Taco Bueno, the regional fresh Tex-Mex restaurant chain, has been voted America’s favorite Mexican quick service restaurant (QSR) in a national survey by global market research firm, Market Force Information. The annual survey canvassed 10,000 people across the country, who collectively ranked Taco Bueno as their favorite in the Mexican food category, ahead of Chipotle, Qdoba, Taco Bell and another seven chains.

“We are thrilled that Taco Bueno is receiving national recognition for our fresh-made Tex-Mex,” said Taco Bueno CEO & President Mike Roper. “Of course this won’t come as much of a surprise to our many loyal fans. We believe our commitment to preparing food fresh in house will continue to drive our growth as we look to expand through franchising over the next several years.”

Taco Bueno has served “Tex-Mex Made Fresh” since 1967, when its first restaurant opened in Abilene, Texas. The chain now has restaurants in 178 locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Colorado. The brand has developed a broad following for its freshly prepared Tex-Mex food with loyal customers referring to themselves as “Buenoheads.”

Taco Bueno will open its first campus location at the University of North Texas later this month. The company will open two additional locations in Colorado Springs in April and May and is planning to open seven more locations in Texas and Oklahoma later this year.
